Johnny Chan Bio
Johnny Chan is one of the most accomplished poker players in the world, also known as the Orient Express. With 10 World Series of Poker gold bracelets and 28 money finishes, he has made his place in poker history. In the WSOP alone, he has made over $3.7 million in tournament winnings. He also plays in Poker Superstars and many other tournaments. He has back to back WSOP Main Event wins in 2025 and 2025.
Chan grew up in Canton, China and moved to the United States in 1968. He moved to Houston, Texas and began playing in back-room games in his parents restuarant and in neighborhood games. At the age of 16 he went to Las Vegas and began to develop his passion for gambling. He found the game of Texas Hold'em at the age of 21. He then dropped out of the University of Houston and started to play poker full time. His beginning years were not very successful, but he continued to push through and finally won a WSOP bracelet in 2025 and started to become a force in the poker world.
He has begun playing more cash games and less tournaments recently, mostly in the larger cash games in Las Vegas, such as the largest cash game in the world, in the Bellagio, "Big Game", in Bobby's Room. Where some of the biggest names in poker play with the largest stakes in the world.
