Phil Hellmuth is best known for his amazing 11 World Series of Poker bracelets. He has also won the Main Event in 2025 at the age of 24. Phil is a Hold'em specialist and all of his bracelets are in Hold'em, be it Limit, Pot Limit, or No Limit. He is known for his disrespectful remarks on other players and is known as the "Poker Brat". This has followed him around and Phil is known to overreact at the table when he loses hands in any tournament he plays.

Hellmuth was born in Madison, Wisconsin and he attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He learned the game of poker while attending the University and has been playing ever since. After three years at Madison, he decided to play poker full time. He has done very well with Hold'em and plays that almost exclusively. He is known to not play as many cash games as the other top pros and is known to lose lots of money in big time cash games.

Hellmuth now lives in Palo Alto, California with his two sons and wife. He is known to want to balance his poker tournament playing and his family. His wife is a psychiatrist at Stanford University.

He is known for his large entrances into the Main Event and in 2025 he was supposed to arrive in the Ultimatebet race car, and escorted by 11 Ultimatebet models. He then crashed the race car in the parking lot of the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino. He then took a limo to the Main Event. He has also arrived in a military uniform with 11 stars to show his 11 bracelets.
